Le jour qu'il a pris sa retraite en août 2013, Rémi Lévesque a fait l'achat de sa première "vraie caméra" proprement dite. Après avoir suivi deux cours d’introduction à la photographie, il joint le Club Focus Caméra de Moncton en 2014 et se donne comme défi de participer à tous les concours et compétitions.  Rémi a participé à plusieurs ateliers de formation donné par Don Martel et Maurice Henri et (Capa) entres-autres.

Co-fondateur du groupe Sociofoto et du projet “Du Monde de par che-nous “ depuis 2015, lui a permis non seulement de développer son art mais également son goût pour la photo réalité.  En 2017, en plus de recevoir le prix Racine de la Société Culturelle Sud-Acadie, le projet s’est vu également attribuer le prix Rhizome au niveau provincial.

2018 a été pour lui une année excitante.  En plus de voir certaines de ses photos mérités des distinctions, il termine quatrième de sa catégorie pour le nombre des points obtenus pour l’année et se voit attribuer le prix Freeman Patterson pour sa création sous le thème “blanc sur blanc”.  Rémi s’est aussi impliqué activement dans le club Focus en acceptant la position de secrétaire en 2017-18 et celle de vice-président en 2018-19.   

Il se dit être constamment encouragé et stimulé par ses amis photographes. Rémi aime particulièrement la photo noire et blanc, la réalité de la photographie de rue ainsi que la macrophotographie puisque celle-ci permet d'explorer ce qu'on ne peut voir à l'oeil nu. Il admire entres-autres le travail de Freeman Patterson , Don Martel et de Vivian Maier.

On the day he retired in August 2013, Rémi Lévesque bought his first real camera. After taking two introductory courses in photography, he joined the Moncton Focus Camera Club in 2014 and challenges himself to participate in all competitions and competitions. Rémi participated in several training workshops given by Don Martel and Maurice Henri and (Capa) among others.

Co-founder of the group Sociofoto and the project "Du Monde de par che-nous" since 2015, has allowed him not only to develop his art but also his taste for reality photography.  In 2017, in addition to receiving the Racine prize from the Société Culturelle Sud-Acadie, the project was also awarded the Rhizome Award at the provincial level.

2018 has been an exciting year for him.  In addition to seeing some of his photos awarded distinctions, he finished fourth in his category for the number of points earned for the year and was awarded the Freeman Patterson Award for his "White on White" theme photo. Rémi was also actively involved in the Focus Club by accepting the position of Secretary in 2017-18 and that of Vice President in 2018-19.

He says he is constantly being encouraged and stimulated by his fellow photographers. Rémi particularly likes black and white photography, the reality of street photography and macrophotography since it allows you to explore what you can not see with the naked eye. He admires among others the work of Freeman Patterson, Don Martel and Vivian Maier.
